Psychotherapeutic Counselling & Clinical Supervision
About Me
I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy) and adhere to their Ethical Framework. I have a Diploma in Counselling and an FdA Degree in Integrative Counselling. I have an advanced certificate in clinical supervision, an enhanced DBS check, child protection training and hold professional indemnity insurance. I undertake clinical supervision for Sue Lambert Trust's trainee counsellors. I am listed as a sessional supervisor and counsellor for the YMCA Trinity Group.
I trained as a counsellor due to the insight I gained into people and the wider society from my life and work experience. Additionally, I possess a drive for social justice and integrity. I care about and am interested in people and helping them reach their full potential. I possess high levels of empathy which I demonstrate in my client contact.
I have over 10 years experience as a counsellor working with adults. I can also hold 1:1 sessions with 11-17 year olds, including family work where necessary. I am skilled in relationship building with young people including multi agency working when an onward referral is required. I am familiar with my child protection responsibilities and matters of safeguarding. I am happy to have discussions with child, parent or guardian to assist in a decision regarding the appropriate way forward for the client, which may or may not be counselling.
I can be approached on any matter. The sessions are confidential. A thorough assessment will be carried out during the first session to establish what you require from counselling and to decide if you want to work with me.
I have worked with and recommend Angela McLellan for relationship issues and counselling: AM Talking Therapy, Suffolk.
